The Wellness Life Institute Co., Ltd.(WLI), a Jeju-based natural cosmetics developer and manufacturer, signed on an agreement with Bangkok-based beauty marketing innovator Thinkplus Digital Agency to start a global joint R&D project on developing personalized aromatic skincare cosmetics products targeting for increasingly savvy and choosy millenials in ASEAN countries.
According to Jeju Techno Park and Jeju National University's Health and Beauty Industry Support Center which have been fostering new industries in the Jeju region, the two companies following a series of discussions on the scope and methods of collaboration has finally signed on the agreement on Thursday at Maison Glad Hotel in Jeju.
Two companies has agreed to develop a line of mass personaized ampoule-type essence products containing adiverse natural aromatic ingredients which are to be differentiated by necessity of consumers like skin problems and emotional preferences.
Thinkplus will play a role as an instrument to collect information and build a database on the needs of local consumers, while WLI develops a variety of formulations according to the data. Products will be manufactured by WLI in Jeju, Korea.
"The project is quite challenging as it aims at 'personalization' which involves such critical issues like costs and skills. Our first-hand goal is to find out the most viable and optimal solutions for the products," says Dr. Lee Hyun-joo, CEO of WLI.
This agreement is part of a global joint R & D discovery project which is being led by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Jeju National University under the name of National Innovation Cluster Support Plan.
